FACTORS THAT GO INTO THE FINAL COST OF YOUR TRUMPETVINE EVENT

Food

This means all ingredients along with the purchase, transportation and preparation of the meal both before your event and on-site.  The style of the menu – multi-course plated meal, tapas buffet, or brunch – also affects the per person food cost.  It is important to consider what kinds of foods you want to serve, how many courses, what is appropriate for the time of day and for the season.  Also keep in mind that careful preparation takes time:  for example, traditional sauces and homemade pastry take several days to properly prepare, and the entire meal is being custom created for your event.

Beverages

Trumpetvine has a wine and beer resale license, so we can provide carefully selected cost effective house wines and micro-brewery beers, or we will cheerfully serve drinks you provide; we do not charge a per bottle corkage.  Don’t forget non-alcoholic beverages, mineral water, juices, or a lovely fresh herbal iced tea or punch.  Trumpetvine has a selection of fair trade organic coffees, teas, and tisanes.

Linens, Dishes, and more

This includes plates, glassware, cutlery, linens, serving pieces, all of which Trumpetvine can provide.  Tables and chairs, outdoor heat lamps, market umbrellas, wedding arches, chuppas, high chairs and so on are all items to keep in mind.

Personnel

The people who serve your guests, the wait staff and the bartenders, are thoughtful, friendly, trained professionals.  The demeanor of the hard-working crew at your party will be upbeat as they execute they carefully planned sequence of events. The people who prepare for and transport your party, as well as behind the scenes kitchen and clean-up help all add to the cost and the successful execution of your event.  The more complicated your event gets (custom rental equipment, individually plated courses, etc.) the more staff will be needed on site.

Sales tax

Sales tax for all catering services is 9.75% in Berkeley, where our Trumpetvine Catering is licensed.

Service 

A service charge of 15% is added to your bill to cover many different factors that go into each event, and is not a gratuity that is shared by on-site staff.  The service charge covers Trumpetvine labor leading up to your event, transportation costs, planning sessions, custom menu design and one-on-one tastings.
